GRADUATE FASHION FOUNDATION

GRADUATE fashion week

The Graduate Fashion Foundation is a charity that works to support graduates as they transition from education to industry – ensuring our graduates have better futures, sustaining employability and helping grow the fashion industry across the globe.

Our charity patrons include Christopher Bailey, Dame Zandra Rhodes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Nick Knight, Victoria Beckham, Nadja Swarovski and the late Dame Vivienne Westwood.

Over the past 33 years, more than 100,000 newly graduated and undergraduate students have been supported and guided by the charity. FF aims remain the same today; dedication to encouraging young people, helping them find employment and get the best start possible in the fashion industry.

Held annually each June in London, Graduate Fashion Week the world’s largest showcase of BA degree talent is an event run by the Graduate Fashion Foundation charity. It has been responsible for launching the careers of some of the most successful designers of our time including Christopher Bailey, Stella McCartney, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Julien MacDonald as well as many renowned creatives in the industry.

About Graduate Fashion Week International:

Graduate Fashion Week International (GFWi) supports the elevation of international talent to a global audience, but also facilitates important conversations around fashion education and the future of the global fashion industry with the aim of creating positive change, while respecting cultural perspectives within all areas of the fashion industry.

GWi held annually in different global locations, supported by a host university, brings together the very best fashion design talent from around the world to embrace diversity, cultural perspectives whilst decentralising fashion. GWi seek to bring fashion to aspiring centres of fashion and even new locations that otherwise might have limited opportunity to see and discuss such diversity of fashion talent.

With the continued growth in International Member universities and the ambition to reinforce a global fashion community, the annual GWi event includes a high-profile catwalk show featuring 25 of the biggest fashion schools from across the globe on schedule at Dubai Fashion Week plus industry networking, panel talks and curated academic displays taking place with our host university FAD Dubai. GFF award winning students from UK member schools will also have their collections shown alongside those of our International members.

GFWi kicked off its global event last year in India, supported by Pearl Academy, Mumbai. This year to be hosted in Dubai with the Arab Fashion Council and supported by FAD Dubai International.

With the unwavering support of FAD, the Graduate Fashion Foundation plays a crucial role in assisting graduates as they make the transition from education to the dynamic fashion industry. This support not only ensures a brighter future for these emerging talents but also fosters lasting employability.

Notably, the Foundation enjoys the patronage of esteemed figures such as Dame Zandra Rhodes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Nick Knight, Victoria Beckham, and Nadja Swarovski. Under their guidance, the runway was transformed into a canvas of artistic expression, where designs transcended mere fashion and ventured into the creative realms of exceptionally ambitious talents.

The collection catered to both men and women, offering a compelling array of features, including printed full face covers that seamlessly blended with the models’ silhouettes, exaggerated ruffles and collars, defined shoulder cuts, integrated denim, and striking spikes in bold colours. But the innovation didn’t stop there, as burgundy bomber jackets, and shades of orange, khaki, blue, and resplendent gold also made an entrance. Each design exuded a distinct individuality, amplifying the promise of continued creativity within the fashion industry.
