Runway shows returned this season, but with a whole new look. Not only was it Dubai Fashion Week’s debut, but it was also the first-ever fashion week that Dyson took part in as the Hair Technology Partner in the Middle East. Bringing innovative haircare products and taking over backstage at every show, Dyson ensured that the models were ready to dominate the runway.
Dyson stylists took over backstage to deliver a variety of hairstyles resulting in catwalk-ready looks with Dyson’s pioneering haircare technologies using the Dyson Supersonicᵀᴹ, Dyson Airwrapᵀᴹ multi-styler and Dyson Corraleᵀᴹ cordless straightener. The machines are engineered to meet the needs of demanding professional styling environments, such as Fashion Weeks, where the pace is fast and the stakes are high, yet the heat doesn’t have to be.
The stylists were challenged to create catwalk-ready looks while dealing with the demands of high-pressure professional styling environments. With a range of attachments, heat settings and core Dyson engineering, stylists can tailor their tool to suit every model, of all hair types, all whilst preserving hair health.
A model’s hair health is a concern often overlooked amidst the mayhem of backstage. Whilst the finished style may look great on the runway, if their hair is not supported with the right tools and techniques, the model can be left with lasting damage.
Reporting from Dubai Fashion Week. Dyson Ambassador, Deena Alawaid, shares a step by step on this season’s most curated hair look. She says: “In my opinion, the best hold is second day hair that would hold best for this look.”
Step 1: spray with a thickening tonic, and smooth out using your Dyson Supersonicᵀᴹ and smoothing attachment
Step 2: section your hair into two halves, using the corner of your eye as a guide and cut-off. Clip the bottom half of your hair away, starting the styling at the top of your hair
Step 3: Using a light-hold hairspray and tail comb, brush your hair back into your desired ponytail position. Tie it with a strong bungee
Step 4: Repeat the above steps, joining the remaining bottom part of your hair with the already formed ponytail
Step 5: Clean up any loose strands using a toothbrush and wax or diffuser on cold air (as hair is slicked up)
Step 6: Use the Dyson Corraleᵀᴹ on a low heat setting and smooth out your ponytail
Step 7: Apply a light hold hairspray and twist your ponytail into a bun leaving out 1.5 inch — pin into place
Step 8: Spray a light hold hair spray onto that one-inch section of hair left out and then run your Corraleᵀᴹ over it on a lowest heat setting (this will help it stay in place)
Step 9: Use a toothbrush and some wax to clean up your style where needed
Step 10: Spray a medium hold hairspray all over, then set your style in place using your Supersonic™ and diffuser (lowest heat setting lowest air flow)
And there you have it; you are runway ready in just 10 easy steps!

Deena shared a step-by-step process of runway looks and educated the crowd on how they can recreate runway looks in the comfort of their own home by using Dyson’s hair care range.
