YASSMIN SALEH - rtw ss23

Born in Beirut and raised in Abu Dhabi, Yassmin Saleh discovered a great passion for design and wearable art for as long as she can remember. In 2011, Yassmin began exploring the essence of the Fashion practice by enrolling in a course at Milan’s Istituto Marangoni.

Yassmin felt she would not do her story justice without her childhood companion by her side, her sister Farah. No stranger to the fashion world, Farah has worked in the regional offices of Christian Dior and Christian Louboutin in Dubai and is now in charge of bringing the Yassmin Saleh brand to the international stage.

One would have to look closely to spot the tattooed motifs embedded within the Yassmin Saleh collection. A form of wearable art, the hand-designed artwork reflecting key issues of our time, has become the hallmark of the sister-duo behind the label. At Arab Fashion Week, eco-conscious goddess looks like flowing bohemian dresses and floor-sweeping gowns adorned with organic prints conjured a sense of otherworldliness. Above all, the slow fashion brand showed the audience that their looks, made with leftover fabrics that are kept aside and repurposed, are the future of luxury.
